Who was Edward Judge?

Edward Judge was an English engineer and industrialist born in Worcester, England and educated at RGS Worcester and St John's College Cambridge where he studied engineering. He entered the steel manufacturing company Dorman Long, becoming involved in the design and construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Tyne Bridge. He was also responsible for setting up the Lackenby Steel works in Teesside which became the chief supplier of steel in the UK. After becoming Chier Engineer of Dorman Long Judge was made President of the British Iron and Steel Federation overseeing the privatisation of the steel industry in 1967.
