Who is Faisal Karim Kundi?

Faisal Karim Kundi was elected Deputy Speaker, National Assembly of Pakistan on 19 March 2008. He had been elected as the youngest Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi comes from a well known political and agriculturist family of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Born in 1975 in Dera Ismail Khan, he graduated from Thames Valley University in London.

He contested the election for NA-24 against Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in February elections 2008 and got 85000 votes with a victory of 40,000 votes.

Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi had served the Pakistan Peoples Party as divisional coordinator in Dera Ismail Khan.

His father Mr Fazal Karim Kundi had defeated Maulana Fazal-ur Rehman in 1990 on PPP ticket. His maternal grandfather, Justice Faizulllah Khan Kundi served as federal minister with Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Faisal Karim Kundi’s great grandfather Barrister Abdul Rahim Kundi was the first deputy speaker of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

Murtaza Javed Abbasi succeeds Faisal Karim Kundi as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
