Who is Farah Nasser?

Farah Nasser is a Canadian journalist with CablePulse24 as of February 22, 2010. She previously anchored CityTv Toronto's 'CityNews' weekend editions at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. with Roger Petersen until she was laid off on January 19, 2010. CITY-TV announced cuts to several news programs and staff. The weekend news was cancelled, and Nasser was part of a company-wide layoff that affected 6% of CITY's staff, and several on-air presenters.

In 2001, at the age of 20, she landed a summer job with CNN in New Delhi, India. She was then a second-year radio and television student at Ryerson Polytechnic University. As per a photo caption in the GTA Today newspaper of May 11, 2001, she wrote to every bureau CNN had and most required a credit course she didn't have by then, except Miami and New Delhi.

"I chose New Delhi because it's on the other side of the world," she said.

She started that job on Monday, May 14, 2001.

Farah Nasser is currently an Anchor/Reporter for CP24 and is also co-host with Nathan Downer on CP24 Live at 5:30. She is also substitute for Nathan Downer on Live at 5 & Live at 5:30.
