Who was Fran Lhotka?

Fran Lhotka was a Czech-born Croatian composer of classical music.

Lhotka was born in Mladá Vožice near Prague. He was a student of Antonín Dvořák. In 1909, he moved to Zagreb in what is now Croatia.

Fran Lhotka died in Zagreb.

He had three sons, Ivo Lhotka-Kalinski, also a composer; Nenad Lhotka, a ballet dancer/ballet master of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet; and Sasha Lhotka.
