Who is Fred Glover?

Fred W. Glover is a professor of computer science and applied mathematics at the University of Colorado and the chief technology officer at OptTek Systems. He is widely known for his contributions to combinatorial optimization, and for inventing the tabu search algorithm, as a method for solving large and complex optimization problems. He is also responsible for coining the term "metaheuristic", which is now the subject of numerous books and annual international meetings of major societies.
