Who is Garrett Graff?

Garrett Graff is the editor-in-chief for Washingtonian magazine in Washington, D.C. and an instructor at Georgetown University in the Masters in Professional Studies Journalism and Public Relations program. He is the author of The First Campaign, and his second book,The Threat Matrix: The FBI at War in the Age of Global Terror was released in March 2011.

Graff was born in 1981 and raised in Montpelier, Vermont. He served as deputy national press secretary on Howard Dean's presidential campaign starting in 1997, where he was instrumental in creating and maintaining Dean’s website.

He was formerly the Vice President of Communications at EchoDitto, Inc. a Washington, D.C. based technology consulting firm. Graff also ran FishbowlDC for the blog Media Bistro. Graff was the first blogger to officially get credentialed to cover the White House.

Attending Harvard University, Graff was the executive editor at the Harvard Crimson. He also held internships at ABC News’ Political Unit and Atlantic Monthly.
