Who was Ğäziz Älmöxämmädev?
Ğäziz Salix ulı Älmöxämmädev was an ethnic Bashkir Tatar opera singer and composer. He was born in the village of Muraptal of Sterlitamaksky Uyezd of Ufa Governorate. He was the People's Singer in 1929. From 1922 to 1929, he lived in Kazan.
In collaboration with Vasili Vinogradov and Soltan Ğäbäşi, he composed the first Tatar operas, Saniä and Eşçe.
Älmöxämmädev composed also vocal and instrumental concertos.
Älmöxämmädev was a victim of Great Purge. He was arrested on 11 December 1937 and was shot on 10 August 1938.
