Who was George Frederick Boyle?

George Frederick Boyle was an American composer; born in Sydney, New South Wales, he came to the United States in 1910 where he remained until his death in Philadelphia in 1948.

Boyle wrote a number of orchestral works, including a piano concerto in D minor, a violin concerto and a cello concerto; two cantatas; some songs; and some chamber music.

A pupil of Feruccio Busoni, Boyle taught at the Peabody Institute, the Curtis Institute of Music, and the Juilliard School after coming to the United States.
