Who was George Strief?

George Andrew Strief was a 19th-century professional baseball player. Strief played for several teams during his career from 1879 to 1885. He was primarily a second baseman, but played at every position except pitcher and catcher. He finished his career with a .207 batting average.

Strief is tied with Bill Joyce for most triples in a game with 4, in 1885.
