Who was Grace James?

Grace James was a writer of children's literature and a Japanese folklorist. Her works in Japanese folklore are "Japanese Fairy Tales," "The Moon Maiden and Other Japanese Fairy Tales," and "The Three Dwarf Trees." She wrote the John and Mary series of children's books, with the titles "John and Mary," "The Adventures of John and Mary," "John and Mary's Youth Club," "John and Mary, Detectives," "John and Mary and Miss Rose Brown," "John and Mary at School," "John and Mary at Riverton," and "John and Mary Abroad."
