Who was Gregory Martin?
Gregory Martin was an English Catholic scholar, the translator of the Douai Version of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate.
In preparing the translation he was assisted by several of the other scholars then living in the English College, Douai, but Gregory Martin made the whole translation in the first instance and bore the brunt of the work throughout.
