Who is Halvard Hanevold?

Halvard Hanevold, is a Norwegian biathlete and Olympic champion. Hanevold won the bronze medal in the men's 20 km individual and the silver medal in the men's 10 km sprint at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

He also medaled in biathlon events at the 1998 Winter Olympics and the 2002 Winter Olympics by winning his first Olympic gold followed by another gold four years later. He won the last medal of his Olympic career in the 4 x 7.5 km relay at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

In his career he recorded 40 podiums at World Cup level, with the last podium being in the final race of the season in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.
