Who was Harold Michael Fong?
Harold Michael Fong was an American lawyer and judge. He served as judge on the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii.
Fong was born in 1938 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended the University of Southern California where he received the A.B. in 1960. He later went to the University of Michigan Law School where he got a J.D. in 1964.

Deputy prosecuting attorney, City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, 1965–1968
Private practice, Honolulu, Hawaii, 1968–1969
Assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Hawaii, 1969–1973
U.S. Attorney for the District of Hawaii, 1973–1978
Private practice, Honolulu, Hawaii, 1978–1982
Fong was nominated by Ronald Reagan on February 11, 1982, to a seat vacated by Walter Meheula Heen on the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 18, 1982, and received his commission on June 21, 1982. Served as chief judge, 1984-1991. Service terminated on April 20, 1995, due to death.
