Who was Henry Brandon, Baron Brandon of Oakbrook?

Henry Vivian Brandon, Baron Brandon of Oakbrook PC MC was a British judge.

He was educated at Winchester College and after university served as an officer in the British Army where he won the Military Cross. He was called to the Bar and practised in the Admiralty Division.

Brandon became a member of the Privy Council in 1978, and was Lord Justice of Appeal between 1978 to 1981. On 24 September 1981, he was appointed a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary and was created a life peer with the title Baron Brandon of Oakbrook, of Hammersmith in Greater London. In 1991, he retired as Lord of Appeal.
