Who was Henry Lee?
Henry Lee was a political economist from Massachusetts, whose writings were popular in England. He advocated free trade and opposed the tariff. As such, he received 11 electoral votes from the South Carolina legislature for Vice President of the United States in 1832 in the midst of the Nullification Crisis, although Lee was not a friend of nullification.
