Who is Hiroyuki Kimura?
Hiroyuki Kimura is a Japanese graphics designer. Kimura joined in Nintendo as a trainee in 1988, and designed the character of Super Mario Bros. 3 in the first. After that, he was originally assigned to Gunpei Yokoi and the famous Nintendo R&D1 team. Kimura designed a variety of games for Nintendo including several of the NES Zapper software and the Metroid series. Shortly after working on Super Metroid, Kimura was transferred to Shigeru Miyamoto and the Nintendo EAD group.
Kimura is the development head of Nintendo EAD Software Development Group No. 4. He is notable for being one of the main designers of the Super Mario Advance and Metroid series of games.
