Who is Ian T. Clark?
Ian Clark is executive vice president, Commercial. Clark is
responsible for leading all aspects of Genentech’s Commercial
functions, including the Sales, Marketing, Managed Care, Market
Development, and Commercial Operations groups. Clark is a member of
Genentech's executive committee.
Clark joined
Genentech in January 2003 as senior vice president and general manager,
BioOncology, and led the company's commercial efforts in BioOncology,
including overseeing sales, marketing and planning. Most recently,
Clark served as senior vice president, Commercial Operations and in
January 2006 Clark was promoted to his current role.
Prior
to joining Genentech, Clark served as president of Novartis Canada,
overseeing all of the company’s country operations. Before assuming his
post in Canada, Clark served as chief operating officer for Novartis
United Kingdom. Prior to joining Novartis in 1999, Clark worked in vice
presidential roles in sales and marketing for Sanofi (Aventis) and Ivax
in the UK and Eastern Europe. Clark started his career at Searle, and
held management positions in both sales and marketing.
Clark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Southampton University in the United Kingdom.
