Who is İbrahim Akın?
İbrahim Akın is a Turkish professional footballer. He currently plays as a left winger for the Süper Lig team Gaziantepspor.
He started his career at Altay S.K. in the Türk Telekom League A before he was transferred to Beşiktaş in June 2004.
On July 14, 2011 he was arrested because of match-fixing allegations in Istanbul BB-Beşiktaş.
On May 16, 2012 he was found guilty for attempting to match-fix in the Beşiktaş–Istanbul BB match, and his footballer license was taken away from him for 3 years, which means he cannot play professional football until the year 2015.
