Ibrahim Müteferrika was a Transylvanian-born Ottoman diplomat, polymath: a publisher, printer, courtier, economist, man of letters, astronomer, historian, historiographer, Islamic scholar and theologian, sociologist, and the first Muslim to run a printing press with movable Arabic type.
