Who was Ignacy Daszyński?
Ignacy Ewaryst Daszyński was a Polish politician, journalist and Prime Minister of the first Polish government, created in Lublin in 1918.
He co-founded the Polish Social Democratic Party, a precursor to the Polish Socialist Party. He was also a founder in 1929 of the Centrolew. Although he supported Józef Piłsudski during the May 1926 Coup, he later joined the opposition to Piłsudski. From 1928 to 1930, he was Marshal of the Sejm.
As a journalist and underground activist, he used the pseudonyms Daszek, Żegota and Ignis.
