Who is Ira Bowman?

Ira Bowman is a retired American professional basketball player formerly in the NBA. He is currently an assistant men's basketball coach for the University of Pennsylvania Quakers.

He attended Providence College and the University of Pennsylvania but was not selected in an NBA Draft. He played for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks from 1999 to 2001, as well as Grand Rapids Hoops of the Continental Basketball Association in 2002. He also played 13 games with the Australian NBL's Gold Coast Rollers in 1996.

Bowman played high school basketball at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, New Jersey, where he led the team to a 31–1 record as a senior and became the school's all time career points leader. He was also the Ivy League Player of the Year when he was playing for the University of Pennsylvania.
