Who is Jean Machi?
Jean Manuel Machi is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball.
In 2008, he played in the Toronto Blue Jays organization and was released after the season. He then signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
On September 1, 2012, Machi was called up by the Giants after serving as the closer for the Fresno Grizzlies, San Francisco's Triple-A affiliate. On September 3, Machi made his major league debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks, pitching a perfect inning.
At the start of the 2014 season, Machi picked up 3 relief wins in his team's first 15 games, becoming the first Giants pitcher to do so since Bob Shaw in 1964.
