Who is John Flynn?

John Flynn is a goalkeeper who played for Kildare County F.C.. He signed for Kildare County in 2004 after a successful trial for the Under-21 side. He had previously played for Kildare District Football League side Castle Villa. Flynn was a member of the Kildare County Under-21 side that reached the Enda Mc Guill Cup final in 2006 only to be defeated 1-0 by Cork City F.C. at Turners Cross.

Flynn broke into the senior side replacing Brendan Kennedy in the sides 3-1 defeat to Finn Harps in the Eircom League First Division in September 2006. Flynn became a regular starter in the side towards the end of the 2006 season. He not only kept the vastly experienced Brendan Kennedy out of the senior side but also fellow Under-21 Goalkeeping starlet and Republic of Ireland Under-19 trialist Carl Donnelly who later moved onto Leinster Senior League side Tolka Rovers.

The signing of Austin O' Neill by Kildare County for the 2007 season relegated Flynn to start the season as Kildare County's second choice goalkeeper and eventually his release during the 2007 season.
