Who was John William Dunne?
John William Dunne FRAeS was an Irish aeronautical engineer and author. As a pioneering aeronautical engineer in the early years of the 20th century, Dunne worked on early military aircraft, concentrating on tailless designs to achieve an inherently stable aircraft. In the field of philosophy, he achieved a pre-eminence through his theories on the nature of time, which he described as "serial".
