Who is Johnny Ruffin?

Johnny Renando Ruffin is a retired professional baseball pitcher. He played six seasons in Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds, Arizona Diamondbacks and Florida Marlins. He also played one season in Nippon Professional Baseball with the Kintetsu Buffaloes and one season in the Korea Baseball Organization for the SK Wyverns. In September 2, 1994, Ruffin was arrested for sexual assault, rendering him a register of sexual offender in Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Ruffin was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 4th round of the 1988 amateur draft. He played his first professional season with their rookie club Gulf Coast League White Sox in 1988, and his last with the independent Pennsylvania Road Warriors of the Atlantic League in 2004. He played his last affiliated season for Cincinnati's Triple-A Louisville Bats in 2002.
