Who is Jon Ola Sand?

Jon Ola Sand is a Norwegian television executive, who works for the Norwegian public broadcaster Norsk Rikskringkasting.

Sand has 15 years' experience working with major productions and co-productions at NRK and TV 2 as well as independent production companies. Sand is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Sand has produced and directed a variety of programmes, such as the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, the Norwegian Film Awards and the Norwegian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, Melodi Grand Prix.

In 2010, Sand was appointed as the Executive Producer of the 55th Eurovision Song Contest 2010, held in Bærum, Norway. Sand is television producer for the Norwegian television channel NRK, which was responsible for holding the festival in 2010.

On 26 November 2010, Sand was appointed as the EBU's Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, after Svante Stockselius resigned from the role, the new position began on 1 January 2011. He made his debut as Executive Supervisor at The Eurovision in Düsseldorf in 2011.
