Who is Julius Lederer?

Jules Lederer was an American business executive and innovator. He dropped out of school in 10th grade, having to work from the time he was 13 to support his family.

In the 1950s, Lederer was president of the Autopoint Company in Chicago; later he became a co-founder of Budget Rent a Car, now a unit of Cendant.

Lederer was married to Eppie Lederer in 1939, who was better known as the syndicated columnist, "Ann Landers." They had one child, a daughter, Margo Howard, before divorcing in 1975.

Lederer later remarried and moved to London, where he died in the city at age 81, survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter, Anthea Lederer, in addition to Margo Howard.
