Who is Katie Couric?

Katie Couric became a household name when she co hosted the number one morning show in the US, The Today show (NBC), from 1991 to 2006. She made a highly publicized move from from NBC to CBS on September 2006 when she took over the anchor and managing editor duties at CBS Evening News. With this move she became the first solo female anchor of weekday evening news of the three big US networks. At the time she became the highest paid news anchor earning $15 million per year.
