Who is Kendall Coffey?

Kendall Coffey is a founding member of the law firm Coffey Burlington, PL, with offices in Miami, Florida. Coffey Burlington handles matters in Florida as well as the United States.

Mr. Coffey serves as the Chair of the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission for South Florida as well. He was appointed by Florida’s United States Senators and governs the 21-person commission that appoints individuals to be considered by the White House to become U.S. federal judges. He also aids the commission to select the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Coffey served during the 1990's as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, the nation's largest federal prosecution office. As the U.S. Attorney, he was liable for thousands of federal criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits involving the United States. After his public service, he continued private law practice with major litigation roles in such high profile cases as the 2000 U.S. Presidential Election Recount and the Elian Gonzalez international custody battle.

Mr. Coffey has authored numerous legal works and presents as a frequent teacher and guest lecturer. Currently he is an adjunct faculty member for the University of Miami School of Law, teaching lessons on Florida Constitutional Law. He also appears regularly as a guest legal analyst on international news networks, sharing his perspectives on major cases and controversies. He has most recently appeared as a legal analyst and consultant for NBC and Telemundo.

Today, Kendall Coffey’s law practice includes national and international litigation, enforcement of contracts and loan agreements,business disputes and litigation, government disputes, fraud cases, and defense of criminal investigations. The Coffey Burlington law firm also focuses on assisting business people with their financial and personal disputes.
