Who was Kenji Utsumi?

Kenji Utsumi was a Japanese voice actor and actor from Kitakyūshū, affiliated with the self-founded Ken Production. He was married to fellow voice actress Michiko Nomura until his death.

He is best known for his roles in Sally the Witch, Fist of the North Star, Dr. Slump Arale-chan, the Dragon Ball series, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Hajime no Ippo. He was also the official dub-over artist for Steve McQueen, Sammy Davis, Jr., Victor Mature, and Robert Shaw.

He received a lifetime achievement award at the third Seiyu Awards.

He died from peritoneal cancer at 3:01 PM in JST on June 13, 2013.
