Who is Kenneth W. Stein?

Kenneth W. Stein is an American historian and politologist. Stein is William E. Schatten Professor of Contemporary Middle Eastern History, Political Science and Israeli Studies and Director of the Institute for the Study of Modern Israel of Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia, where he has taught since 1977 and where he "founded and developed the International Studies Center, was the first director of the Carter Center, established the Middle East Research Program and the Institute for the Study of Modern Israel."

Kenneth W. Stein's parents - Mathilde Wertheim Stein, teacher of foreign language,originated from Hessen, and Max Kaufmann Stein, accountant, were Jews who emigrated to U.S. from Germany after Hitler's ascension to power.
