Who is Kevin Hardwick?

Kevin R. Hardwick is a political science professor at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York and an Erie County Legislator. Hardwick represented the 10th legislative district in 2009 when he was first elected. The Erie County Legislature was redistricted and downsized to an 11-seat body effective January 2012; Legislator Hardwick represents the 4th legislative district.

Hardwick hosted a local Buffalo, NY radio show on WBEN called Hardline with Kevin Hardwick. The show focused on local and state politics and government. He has also been interviewed numerous times in the Buffalo and Western New York media.

Kevin Hardwick earned a Ph.D. from Suny Binghamton, and beginning in 1986 served as the Administrative Assistant to the Majority Leader of the New York State Senate, at that time Warren M. Anderson. Senator Anderson retired in December 1988. Dr. Hardwick then joined Canisius College in the fall of 1989.

Hardwick has also held prior political office. More recently, he served on the City of Tonawanda Charter Review Commission, and was a First Ward Alderman and Council member in the City of Tonawanda from 1996-2001. He then unsuccessfully challenged Charles Swanick for a seat in the County Legislature in 2001 and 2003.
