Who is Kulvinder Ghir?
Kulvinder Ghir is a British actor, comedian and writer best known for his roles in Rita, Sue & Bob Too, Blood & Peaches, Bend It Like Beckham and the sketch show Goodness Gracious Me. He was the father of Luna in the Ice Cream Dream.
In Goodness Gracious Me he specialised in the characters "Chunky Lafunga", a sexy Bollywood star, superhero Bhangra Man, and one half of the "Bhangramuffins" duo. He has also provided voices for the BBC Three show Monkey Dust.
His play Dusky Warriors premiered at the Theatre Royal, Stratford, London in 1995.
In 2000, Ghir played the role of a newsagents owner, in the first series of the ITV1 drama series At Home with the Braithwaites.
He also contributed material to the BBC sketch show The Real McCoy.
From September 2009 to May 2011, Ghir was part of the cast of BBC Three comedy series Lunch Monkeys, playing Mohammed Khan, the father of Abdullah Afzal. The show was axed after two series.
He also appeared in Postman Pat since 2003 and did the voice of Ajay Bains and Bill Thompson.
In 2013 he appeared as one of the feuding brothers in the UK film, Jadoo.
