Who is Kyle E. McSlarrow?

Kyle E. McSlarrow, a former Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Energy and Congressional candidate, is the head of Comcast's lobbying and government-affairs office, which now includes NBCUniversal lawyers and lobbyists. Announced As of 9 March 2011, McSlarrow is intended to start with Comcast in early April 2011.

Prior to the Comcast position, McSlarrow has been president & CEO of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, a trade group representing the U.S. cable industry, since March 2005. As Deputy Secretary of Energy in the administration of George W. Bush he served as the Department's chief operating officer from November 27, 2002 until February 2005. He also was co-chairman of the U.S.-Russia Energy Working Group, a program started by George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin. McSlarrow and was Chief of Staff of the Department of Energy prior to his appointment as Deputy Energy Secretary.

McSlarrow, a native of Virginia, earned degrees from Cornell University and the University of Virginia School of Law. Before joining the Department of Energy, McSlarrow served as Vice President of Political and Government Affairs for Grassroots.com, a privately held Internet company which marketed web-based political tools and services.
