Who was Lars von Engeström?
Count Lars von Engeström was a Swedish statesman and diplomat. He served as the first Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1809 to 1824, and as the Chancellor of Lund University from 1810 to 1824.
1782-87 envoy in Vienna, 1788-92 envoy in Warsaw, 1793-95 envoy in London, 1795 ambassador in Vienna.
He was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1810.
