Who is Laurie Sawle?

Lawrence Michael "Laurie" Sawle is a former first-class cricketer and chairman of selectors for the Australian national team.

Sawle played for his home state from 1954/55 to 1960/61 as an opening batsman before a distinguished career as state selector in the 1970s, then as a senior WACA administrator, director of the Australian Cricket Board and chairman of selectors for the national team from 1994 to 1997. In his state selector role, Sawle partnered with Alan Edwards and Wally Langdon during the Western Australian team's most successful years.

He is married to Lorna Sawle, with whom he has 3 children, Maryanne, Carmel and Mark. One of his granddaughters is the actress Georgina Moffat.
