Who was Lee Hoi-Chuen?

Lee Hoi-Chuen was a Hong Kong Cantonese opera singer and film actor. He was the father of Bruce Lee.

Lee Hoi-chuen and his wife, Grace Ho, were in San Francisco in 1940 when Bruce Lee was born, they were on a one-year U.S. tour with the Cantonese Opera Company. Their other son Robert Lee, Bruce's younger brother, was famous in Hong Kong during the 1960s as the lead singer and founder of a popular beat band The Thunderbirds.

Lee Hoi-chuen died just a few days after his 64th birthday, and a week after the birth of his grandson, Brandon Lee. He was portrayed by Tony Leung Ka-fai in the 2010 film Bruce Lee, My Brother.
