Who was Leo Marks?
Leopold Samuel Marks, MBE, was an English cryptographer during the Second World War. He headed the codes office supporting resistance agents in occupied Europe for the secretive Special Operations Executive. After the war he became a playwright and screenwriter. Near the end of his life he published a highly regarded personal history of his experiences during the war, Between Silk and Cyanide.
