Who was Madeline Brock?
Dame Madeline Dorothy Brock, DBE, Litt.D. was Headmistress of the Mary Datchelor Girls' School, Camberwell, London. She oversaw the evacuation of the school during the Second World War and was succeeded in 1950 by Miss Rachel N Pearse.
She was named a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the New Year Honours, 1947.
