Maia Yanovna Berzina was a prominent Soviet ethnographer, geographer and cartographer. Among her scores are "Americans" entry in the Great Soviet Encyclopedia and several maps in the Great Soviet World Atlas. Overall she was the author of about fifty original ethnic maps.
