Who is Matteo Darmian?
Matteo Darmian is an Italian footballer, who plays for Serie A club Torino and the Italian national team. Although he started his career as a centre-back, he now primarily plays as a fullback that can operate on both sides of the pitch. He was born in the Northern Italian industrial town of Legnano and joined the A.C. Milan youth system in 2000. He spent one season on loan at Padova, before being sold to Sicilian side Palermo in 2010. In 2011, he transferred to Torino before the move was made permanent in June 2012.
Internationally, he has represented Italy from U-17 to U-21 youth levels. On 31 May 2014, he was given his senior international debut in a pre-World Cup friendly against Ireland.
