Who is Maxon Crumb?

Maxon Crumb is an American artist and the younger brother of underground cartoonist Robert Crumb. Maxon initially started painting as a way to deal with his own personal demons. However, he has subsequently come to utilize it to support himself, replacing his previous need to panhandle.

Maxon's early work can be found in works such as Weirdo, Liquidator, and Crumb Family Comics. Since the publication of Maxon's Poe and HardCore Mother his first novel, his work has found a wider audience.

Paintings and ink drawings can take weeks or months to complete. During this time Maxon says that he will enter into an intense creative state where the work becomes paramount, to the detriment of normal everyday concerns including eating.

Maxon's drawings are available online as well as fine art limited edition prints.

His first published novel, HardCore Mother was a study of incest and sadism.

Maxon practices celibacy and has done for many years because, as he has explained in interviews, sex triggers epileptic seizures.
