Who is Michiel van den Bos?
Michiel "M.C.A." van den Bos is a Dutch musician who composed primarily for Epic Games and Triumph Studios. He began composing on the Commodore 64 and Amiga before making the transition to composing professional soundtracks for critically acclaimed video games such as Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex and Overlord series. His most recent project is the soundtrack of Age of Wonders III.
According to Van den Bos' MySpace, his influences are LTJ Bukem, Catherine Wheel, Adorable, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jerry Goldsmith, The Stone Roses, Silversun Pickups, Fields, Ash, John Williams, Underworld, Martin Galway, Pinback/Rob Crow, The Posies, Children of Bodom, Carcass, Ride, Arcade Fire, The New Pornographers, Built to Spill, and Autolux.
Van den Bos is also an active indie/alternative DJ.
