Who is Nokko?

Nokko is a Japanese singer-songwriter. She was the lead singer of the band "Rebecca" which had a string of hits in Japan in the 1980s. She was born in Urawa, Saitama, as Nobuko Yamada. As Nokko, she had hits in Japan with her solo career throughout the 1990s as well as releasing an English language album in the US with production and mixes by both Goh Hotoda and Francois Kevorkian.

In 1990, she married Takehiko Kogure, the ex-leader of Rebecca, but in 1993, they divorced. In 2002, she married Goh Hotoda, sound engineer, and now lives in Atami, Japan. On August 1, 2006, she gave birth to her first child.

Her song "Ningyo" was the theme-song for the 1994 drama Toki o Kakeru Shōjo starring Yuki Uchida.
