Who is Norwood Cheek?
Norwood Cheek is a filmmaker and has directed over 70 music videos for bands She & Him, the EELS, Superchunk, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Ben Folds Five, AFI, Toenut, 12 Stones, French Kicks, the Donnas, Soul Coughing and many others.
He produced CineFix a youtube premium channel from 2012-2013. He developed, co-created and produced the hit animated series 8-bit Cinema on youtube. Other CineFix series he developed, produced or created include: Homemade Movies, Conspiracy Cinema, Movies With Kate, Storybook Movies, Bit Rate, FilmStrip, and 8-bit Game Reviews.
His short films have played in festivals around the world and can be seen on the Flicker video podcast. The Cucalorus Film Festival had a retrospective of his short films and videos in 2011.
Other directing credits include an episode of USA Networks series GvsE entitled "Lady Evil". Various commercials for X-Large and X-Girl.
He directed and ran the Flicker Film Festival in Chapel Hill and Los Angeles from 1994-2010 and wrote the Flicker Guide to the World of Super 8 filmmaking. He also headed up the LA version of the Attack of the 50 Foot Reels from 2000-2010.
He has appeared in a variety of commercials and films as an actor and did several voices for the animated show King of the Hill.
