Who is Noubar Afeyan?

Noubar Afeyan, PhD, is an American entrepreneur, venture capitalist, inventor, technologist, and CEO. During his career, Afeyan has co-founded and helped build 26 life science and technology startups. In 2000, Afeyan founded Flagship Ventures, where he creates and funds early-stage start-ups addressing unmet needs in healthcare and sustainability. Since 2000, he has also been a Senior Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management. He lectures widely in the United States and internationally on topics ranging from entrepreneurship, innovation and venture capital to biological engineering, drug discovery, medical technologies and renewable energy.
