Who was Oliver Kessing?
Oliver Owen Kessing was the third and last commissioner of the All-America Football Conference. Kessing was born in Greensburg, Indiana. He attended the Naval Academy, where he played football and baseball. He also wrestled and boxed. He served in World War II. He was named Deputy Commissioner of the AAFC on March 19, 1947. He was named commissioner of the AAFC on January 22, 1949.
The AAFC folded after the 1949 season.
