Who is P. J. Ryan?

Patrick James "P. J." Ryan is an Irish former inter-county hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Kilkenny senior team.

Ryan joined the team as sub 'keeper in 1999 and remained off and on the panel for a number of years. He became the first-choice goalkeeper in 2007 and went on to win three All-Ireland winners' medals, four Leinster winners' medals, two National Hurling League winners' medals and an All-Star award. He retired from inter-county hurling in 2011 after being replaced as first-choice 'keeper by David Herity.

At club level Ryan continues to play with the Fenians club.
