Who is Pius Cheung?
Pius Cheung is a marimbist and composer, called " a young Chinese-Canadian virtuoso," by the New York Times. He began teaching in the music performance percussion program at the University of Oregon in 2011. He is also noted as one of the few people who play marimba while sitting on a stool and most likely with his eyes closed. He received his Bachelor of Music from the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, his Artist Diploma from The Boston Conservatory, and his Doctorate from the University of Michigan.
