Who is Queen Rania of Jordan?
Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan is the queen consort of King Abdullah II of Jordan. She became queen consort in Feb 1999 when her husband succeeded to the throne. At the time she was the youngest queen in the world. Queen Rania has been an outspoken advocate of women's rights and makes numerous public appearances including a television interview with Oprah Winfrey on May, 2006 where she spoke about misconceptions about Islam and women's role in Islam.
